Veneers

You no longer need to hide your smile because of gaps, chips, stains, or misshapen teeth. With veneers, your Lake Forest Dental Associates doctors can easily correct your teeth’s imperfections to help you have a more confident, beautiful smile. Veneers are natural in appearance and a perfect option for patients wanting to enhance the look and feel of their smile.

What are Veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells made from tooth-colored materials (such as porcelain) designed to cover the front, or visible side of your teeth. To prepare for veneers, your Lake Forest Dental Associates team will create a unique model of your teeth. This model is sent to a dental technician who creates your veneers.

Before placing your new veneer, Dr. Razdolsky or Dr. Tincher may need to conservatively prepare your tooth to achieve the desired aesthetic result. When your veneers are placed, you’ll be pleased to see that they look like your natural teeth.

What are Veneers made out of?

There are many different materials we can make veneers from – including porcelain or Lithium disilicate which are wonderful options. Drs. Razdolsky or Tincher will help you decided which material is best for you.

What are the steps involved in treatment?

Smile Evaluation and Consolation: Are Veneers the right choice for you? Let’s find out!

Records Appointment: We take Radiographs, Impressions, and Photographs, so we can ensure we get the end results we want by collecting all the proper diagnostic materials.

Wax-Up/Try-in: Before beginning any work, the Lake Forest Dental Associates team will develop a blue-print model to use as a guide throughout treatment. In many cases we can try-it-in your mouth prior to starting. This will allow you to visualize your future smile.

Preparation and impression appointment: The doctor will minimally prepare your teeth and take final impressions for our master ceramist. At the close of this appointment, you will leave with cosmetic temporaries.

Delivery: This is the big day which we get to try in your new smile. If everything fits and looks as we desire, we will permanently cement in your new Veneers.

What is the difference between Bonding and Veneers?
  • Bonding is a conservative way to repair slightly chipped, discolored, or crooked teeth.
  • During dental bonding, a white filling is placed onto your tooth to improve its appearance. The filling “bonds” with your teeth, and because it comes in a variety of tooth-colored shades, it closely matches the appearance of your natural teeth.
  • Bonding is less expensive than other cosmetic treatments and usually can be completed in one visit. However, bonding can stain and is easier to break than other cosmetic treatments such as porcelain veneers
  • If you are breaking your bonding more frequently or the chip is too large a Veneer may be a better option than bonding

At Lake Forest Dental Associates, your smile is our top priority. Please share all your concerns, so that we may help guide you in the direction and course of treatment that is right for you. It is our goal to not only improve the oral health of our dental patients one smile at a time, but to also help them Smile with Confidence.
